This blue eye shadow has been really big for the Spring shows

I've been loving the distressed denim trend, and I've recently just bought a pair of white ones, hopefully I'll be able to show in a new Ootd?

I think Kitten heels are really cute but feminine, and they are much more practical and comfortable than really high insane heels. I'm definitely keeping an eye open for these at the moment.

The smokey green eyes at the runway is really gorgeous and innovative. It somehow feels very girly and bold and refreshing even. I'm definitely doing a tutorial on that soon.

I've been wanting to find a new stick blush for such a long time, and I can't wait to buy and check out this new Maybelline master glaze blush stick. Dramatic cheeks and eyes are a really good combo for the upcoming spring looks, with a very minimal lip.

And the trend of the primary continues ..

This bag is really nifty, although it probably wouldn't fit anything more than a phone and a lipstick!

I absolutely adore her style, I think women really need to look at themselves more maturely and with more self worth and pride. Showing skin does show confidence, but not if it's done all the time. Clothes are meant to say something, to express yourself, and to be presentable and comfortable. You don't need your clothes to speak volumes at all times. Which is why I really admire t his very soft, quiet and feminine looks.

These Indian/tribal prints are really trendy this season, even for trousers that I've seen while out shopping. This is a great way to pair a very visually engaging top with simple white accessories.

"Class is not defined by money" - Zoe Saldana
Zoe Saldana's LUCKY cover shoot is fresh and gorgeous making us all miss the summer, and especially making me miss Los Angeles.

I love this 70's romper look, the breezy hair, toned down make up & playing up with the jewelry. I personally love silver over gold but here I think it looks great with her skin tone.

The Armani Exchange blue top is subtly sexy yet casual, it was a great choice on her for the photoshoot.

December 14

Finally got my hands on the Dec 13/ Jan 14 issue of LUCKY magazine and I found a few things that caught my eye especially for the holidays.

First off are these limited edition shades by OPI

I really like "Baby Please Come Home" it looks like a really festive and grey purple with the shimmer.

Essie's collection is a lot more subtle and doesn't have much of a color. I guess the last winter collection did that so they might be trying to tone it down a little bit. I couldn't help but see the similarity between Essie's "Lots of Lux" and OPI's "kiss Me At Midnight".

Covergirl has a new tropical nail polish collection, I really like these surprisingly, and you could wear it even now with the obvious lack of summer because they all seem to have a sheen to them. It isn't glitter in your face but it still doesn't look just bright and summer limited to me.

When I first saw that Covergirl was coming out  with a dual ended mascara I couldn't help but think they were releasing their version of the Maybelline falsies. However this is a two step process mascara rather than a top lash and lower lash in one. I wish they would have gone with another color for their package like a grey or something rather than this pink.

I remember L'oreal had something similar to this a long time ago in a gold packaged, however I'm curious to use this because I have 3 other mascaras by Covergirl that I often use as well. This will be on my shopping list soon.

I've always really liked a warm floral pattern on a black background, I think some people might think it looks quite aged but I think you need to find a good silhouette and cut with fit and it isn't so overwhelming. A red lip or a red heel just puts it all together.

You can make just about any outfit work in the winter by accessorizing heavily on your hands, especially my favorite: silver/white jewelery.

I really love this whole white outfit going on by Banana Republic. I haven't been there in a long time but I do find their style bold and stylish, however a little bit on the pricey side unfortunately. Still love it though!

November 10

I was browsing through this month's VOGUE and here are some things I wanted to share.

Here is ESSIE's new winter collection. My favorite was the red sparkly one "Toggle to the top". Unfortunately ESSIE is just really overpriced for me.

I really nice pair of leather boot and a matching leather handbag.

I really like Katie Holmes' make up, if she's on the red carpet or out in the street with her daughter she really looks radiant. Although you can't always tell if she's wearing make up because she usually goes for a very natural and neutral look, however she has experimented with heavy looks and smokey eyes. Currently out is her collaboration with Bobbi Brown cosmetics which I'm really interested to see and try.

An update on what's back in trend.

(I own: #014 Revlon Colorburst - Rosepearl)
I really like this color because it's moisturizing and just a really good peach pink natural color with a good sheen and shine. However it doesn't have a good hold for a long time just because it isn't a stain, but a pretty good for a lip gloss choice.

(I own: #260 Revlon Colorstay - Bold Sangria and #200 Stormy Night)
I love both these colors, I think it's a good transition from this season's fall colors to winter. They're rich and matte if you prefer something that has a good wear and not something with too much glitter.

(I own: #745 Revlon Nail Enamel - Frankly Scarlet)

I've had this for a long time and I just like having a really nice bold red in my nail collection, especially now as Christmas is coming up, this is a must have.

I was out in the store and I just found a few things that I really liked. Some really nice necklaces in Target. This is a good investment because right now they are so popular and a lot more casually worn than ever before. And there is no going wrong because you can pair it with a nice sweater as well as a dress with this year's thanksgiving or christmas party.

Essie's new winter collection

I opted for Revlon's #220 Rain Forest (deep glittery emerald) to Essie's Toggle to the top (deep glittery maroon/red) just for the price sake. I just don't think any nail polish is worth $7. And I would recommend this gorgeous green color for the festive season, it's really great and puts you in a christmas mood.

Just a really nice candle for christmas, I thought it was interesting.

October - 8th/ 2013

Browsing through ELLE magazine, there are some really nice combinations of current trends that I wanted to post. In addition to the fall prints and colors we have oversized clothing. Sweaters, coats, hats and other matching accessories.

This is a really classic preppy look for school/college environment. It's fashionable and appropriately put together without going overboard. Tommy Hilfiger is a must during fall if you're under 30. It's really classic, very much like Ralph Lauren in my opinion. You just can't go wrong with either of them.

Lately there has been a trend on these big eye catching prints. It's very eastern oriented combination of prints and colors put together. Sort of reminds me of the 70's, but the right kind of silhouette can easily make it a modern look.

An all time basic fall of course includes a big bulky coat, consisting of either herringbone or houndstooth pattern. A combination of everything you wear having the same print can be a little overwhelming, so a change of scale, texture, and different tints of the same color would ease the look on the eyes.

A new print that's been popular is hearts. One I have seen everywhere are these huge oversizes sweaters with a one big single red heart int he middle. It's super comfy, cute and simple.

Something I've been dying to get are these gorgeous knee high boots. I prefer the simple black ones, they would go with anything you wear, and the shape is is really flattering as well.

With Halloween coming up, I found this photoshoot a pretty fun inspiration for makeup, clothing and accessorizing yourself. So enjoy! :)

August - 20th/ 2013

With this season's fall just around the corner, I'm noticing a lot of plaid being part of trend again. One thing you can't go wrong with is a beautiful long coat with plaid prints, and this season it clearly goes beyond the orange, with reds, blues and greens.

It's all about balancing the weight of the print on your body, you don't want the eye to just be brought to one specific part, you want it to synchronize every piece. The best way to do it, as seen here, is to pick a color from the print itself. Or staying in the same color family, as seen with the combination of the blue top and the green skirt (cool colors) or the combination of two very eye catching reds (warm).

As fall comes around you wanna start adding heavier accessories when you go out, it's a real game changer from the summer breeziness.

This is a great time to add a little vintage touch to your look, one little antique piece can make you look very classy.

The best way to do this is to bring out your personality, be it work related, showing that you like big rings or color popping bracelets to compliment or contrast with your outfit, or adding a touch of orange to just be subtle and appropriate.

This watch is an example of a functional accessory that fits in right with the season.

Blake Lively has been the center of attention for being the new girl next door or 'the golden girl' with her natural looking hair and great outfits; her new fall photoshoot with LUCKY in the September 2013 issue includes some very eye catching pieces.

August- 16

Some things I wanted to post after browsing through LUCKY August 2013 magazine today- like this really awesome new Burberry bag

I love how this bottom is just like the bag

A really good example of day make for darker skin

And  turning it into a smokey evening look with tones of pink

Lucy Hale in this really pretty dress, the lack of jewelry really keeps the focus on the beautiful pattern of the dress. The contrast is also eye catching and the black and white clash adds sophistication.
